Enjoy Quality Senior Living In A 55+ Community

Are you a senior who isn’t ready to lie down and take it quietly? Do you still enjoy being active and socializing with friends? Are you able to live on your own and take care of your own place? Then maybe a 55 plus senior community is a good place for you to consider living. If you are still active and healthy and able to be on your own, then you’re probably not interested in living in an assisted living facility. There are several other types of communities available that allow you to maintain your independence and live on your own, yet still take advantage of living among other seniors.

Condominium communities for seniors provide nearby neighbors, room for guests, and a minimum of outside work. On the downside, parking may be limited and there may not be much area available for someone who likes to dabble in the garden as a hobby. You may however find a little patio area where you can do some container gardening or nurture a bird-watching habit. A condo community can be conducive to an active social life as well, since there are many neighbors living close by.

Another good option for quality Senior living is a mobile home park for seniors. This allows senior citizens the option of maintaining a single family dwelling lifestyle without common walls and the disturbance of upstairs or downstairs neighbors. This type of a community allows you the option of making friends with the other seniors living nearby and oftentimes a clubhouse or lounge is provided for neighborhood get-togethers or card games. Residents of a senior mobile home park would also enjoy taking care of a smaller yard with just enough room to plant a fruit tree or a few rosebushes.

An advantage to living in one of these senior communities is that many of them are gated or otherwise made more private, so the residents feel safer. Some of these communities may provide activities such as golf, tennis, or dances for the residents to participate in and get to know one another. It is also common in these neighborhoods to find that they have covenants or rules about the amount of time children or other non-senior guests can visit or what activities are allowed while they are there in order to maintain a quiet and respectful atmosphere for peaceful senior living. There may also be covenants regarding pets so make sure to check that out wherever you decide to enjoy your senior years. Whichever of these communities you choose, it should enhance your lifestyle and provide the opportunities you are looking for.
